Fields we read
- names with their history
- company form (Oy, Oyj, Ky ...)
- main line of business (TOL 2008)
- company situations: bankruptcy, liquidation, restructuring, with dates
- registration and end dates
- website when the company states one
Never read: the care-of (c/o) line and street addresses. Companies only: housing companies, associations, foundations and sole traders are skipped; partnerships only when the name reads as a company.
How our API joins it
Everything we publish is keyed by the company website (domain). We pair each register ID with a domain in three ways, each with a confidence score: the website the register states, a VAT crosswalk (a CORDIS participant's VAT equals the national ID in NO, FI, FR and PL), and a unique company name in the same country matched against the names we hold for domains. Ambiguous matches are dropped.
Today the pairs power the joins behind company pages, tender winner pages and the company card. A public look-up by register ID or VAT number is on the Company ID roadmap and not in the API yet: see company lookup for what works today.
